I'm looking to replace the springs and shocks for my 94 v6 come tax time. I don't drag the car but I'm looking to firm up the car a little for handling. My goals for the car are to put down more power which I'm working on and to make it more responsive for cornering. currently I have only changed the rear sway to the sway from a 2000 TA. So for springs and shocks what do you guys think would be a good choice and is there any other items I need?

Re: looking at shocks and springs
I like KYB AGX, I just got mine recently. I also put Strano springs but I won't recommend those to you just because of some issues I am having. Go with BMR SPRINGS>#1:1999 pewter metallic y87 rs A4 camaro.check out the pics on the link below
#2:Bright red 1979 Pontiac Trans Am. Brand new 400 cubic inch Pontiac Motor. All work done by me, except the engine work.
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2216133

A few other suggestions that might help... look at getting an SS/WS6/1LE front sway bar. 32mm with poly endlinks and bushings (packed with plenty of grease) will help to balance that rear bar out, and along with the shocks and springs will help it to feel a lot better. You can also look into getting an adjustable panhard bar to help recenter the rear after the lowering springs are installed, but it's not absolutely necessary.

Re: looking at shocks and springs
Your link doesn't work. And I don't think the fireman is trying to win pro solo titles... I don't think you understood what I said. I'm not dissatisfied with the product necessarily, I am dissatisfied with the guy selling it more than anything. All he suggested was that there is something wrong with my car. There is nothing wrong with it. And I don't give a **** if he's won "multiple titles". Marilyn Manson has won multiple awards and not everyone likes him.#1:1999 pewter metallic y87 rs A4 camaro.check out the pics on the link below
#2:Bright red 1979 Pontiac Trans Am. I never said he wanted to win any sort of titles or suggest anything of the sort. In fact, if you'll notice I recommended Hotchkis springs, not Strano or BMR springs. And I understand what you said. I didn't mean for that post to look like I was jumping all over you about it. I just don't see the point of getting a spring that is a cheaper copy of another that was made with a specific rate, behavior, and material in mind and has proven itself many times.'99 Camaro

Re: looking at shocks and springs
I got some DNA springs off ebay $90 shipped, 450LB front rate, 250lB rear spring rate, 1.65" drop, got these incase I need to firm up the suspension, I have 300lb front springs and 170lB rear springs right now, for $90 I might give them a try later on. I had Eibachs before with a 1.75 drop and they lasted 10 years then started saging but they served their purpuse , were some great springs.08' L76 6.0L 4X4 Chevy EXT.Cab LTZ Vortec MAX with Snug top cover, Dynomax exhaust,Hptuners& K&N intake

Re: looking at shocks and springs
thanks for the help guys right now I think I'm going to go for the hotchis springs the KYB shocks and a new set of bump stops. Once I get everything installed I'll see if the car feels like it needs stiffer front sway. Now where dose everyone do there shopping for these goodies. I'm thinking summit but I wanna look everywhere firstLast edited by A fireman; 09-19-2010, 08:55 PM.

Need to compare it to the rear spring rate also, then if you get it too firm you'll need bigger sways to keep up with them. I would do the least amount you can get away with so you can leave your sways alone. Mines alittle higher than stock but corners like its been lowered, just have to have the right combo of springs, shocks ,sways and other supporting suspension mods.08' L76 6.0L 4X4 Chevy EXT.Cab LTZ Vortec MAX with Snug top cover, Dynomax exhaust,Hptuners& K&N intake
