  • Picked up 335/35/17 tires

I just got home from picking them up , the guy had them on craigslist as BFG's but their actually Michelin tires 335/35/17 GTX-Z tires brand new never mounted so for $200 I think I got a good deal new Michelin tires are at almost $400 each, and it will only cost $30 to mount & balance them. I'm going to wait alittle longer before putting them on since my 315's still have life in them. A few more road trips and I think by begining of next year they will go on. I have about 1" of clearance from the inner fender right now so I hope I don't have to use a spacer like a 1/4" spacer I have to use for my front Pro Stars, will post some pics of these bad boys tomorrow when I get a chance. I have saved more money on craigslist and ebay I can't believe it, also through GM mechanics and Service Depts.

These 335's are going to look cool , but I need my turbo up and going to back up the huge tires. LOL I def. got a great deal on these, to buy 2 more when these go will be about $800-$900. Unless I find another good deal or go back to 315's.

Are you going to have to do any mods to make those puppies fit? I was planning on 315's for next summer. My 275 Hankooks grip well, but I just want wider tires for looks. I can only get 10.5 in rims so 335's are just too big for that size rim. I have tire size envy too LETZRIDE.:)

chicks dig big tires .... I'd love to even run a 315 tire....I had to pound the crap out of the inner fenders to make my 275s fit though...

thats your problem, go with some e/t streets.

You got a good deal for sure, but I see it as I want the smallest tire that I can hook up with. Less weight and rotational mass. ssms have you just through about running a 275 m/t? or you just looking to stay away from a drag radial or slick?

get some pics up when you do mount them, thats gonna look killer from the rear!!!

                    Re: Picked up 335/35/17 tires

My Sumuitto 315's just chirp 2nd and 3rd but when hot I will spin around a corner like car drifting. My Gforce 275's had better grip. but these 335's look like they will grip pretty well since they look more like the BGF G -force series. For the 17X11 ZR1 rims and the 315's I had to cut out the bump stops , I have about 1" to the inside fender now and hope the 335's will fit. My car is also about 27-28" from ground to fender all around so I have some extra height for my under K turbo kit. I drive maybe 4 times a month, so I got the 335's for the price and for the looks. I might wait alittle bit to put them on since the 315's only have about 500 miles on them.

Ya i hear ya, im in the same boat. I have yet to try out the nitto 555rs on my z28, im running bfg g-force right now, 275s, and from a 35mph roll in my z28 with 2.73s i spin them, and theyre new!

so far my nittos have held up well, they have about 3k and still look pretty damn new.

damn...I was looking at getting Bfg's too...I hate you sooo much steve...hurry up and get a pic of them on the car lol...

I might just go with a set of 285 wide Nankangs next year...cheapest tire I can find on ebay...probably won't hook...but it looks like I could spend 200$ a tire and not hook, so I mine as well get something easy on the pockets...

Maybe you'll find some new Michieln 335/35/17 tires for $100 each. Theres always ebay and craigslist thats the way to go, if it makes you happy I have to pay $1300 in labor to get my double roller, heads, 1.7 Pro Mags, lifters, and intakes etc. installed next Fri. will take 3 days to do. So that should make up for it, take the good with the bad. LOL I'm thinking of getting them mounted actually since I put them up next to the 315's Sumuttos I'm excited to get them on I think they will clear or I might use a 1/4" spacer will see.
