  • Anyone running 255's?

Before next summer Im going to need 2 new tires, I just put new rubber on the rear at the beginning of this summer cause my old good years were pretty much slicks, but now the fronts are almost shot. So I was wondering how 255's feel, cornering, launching, over all driving, and how they look, so give me some opinions and pics of them, and maybe next summer Ill put my 245s up front and run some 255's the the rear. Thanks in advance.

with one inch wheel spacers. they look KILLER and perform pretty well.

probably the best tire as far as grip and what not for a stock to lightly modded camaro. not to much tire to ruin fun but enough to be safe.

When I had the stock rims and 235 tires I went to 255/50/16's on the salald shooters. Looks alot better and gives you more rim protection. Now I'm up to 335/35/17's. LOL :)

I run 255/40R17's front 275/40R17's rear. I love the large foot print. It's like being on rails. However with the summer rubber (i dont run all season tires) when it's rainy it's a bit dicey. For deep water remember that a wider tire can mean a lot more hydroplaning. But boy is it great when it's dry. Also if it gets cold during the winter (even Houston "cold") you have to build up heat in the tires if you're going to drive exuberantly.

To add to this... does anyone have any experience with nitto 555s in a 255 size? I've heard nittos run narrow and was looking at running those on some 17x9 wheels.

That's what I'm running on the front right now. Seems to grip pretty decent. Don't expect miracles in the rain.

I wouldn't ask much from these in wet or cold conditions, so that's fine. Don't happen to have any pics of how they look on those front wheels, do you? If they look too narrow, I might have to bump it up to a 275 instead.
