rear control arm bushings, shocks, springs are brand new, on both sides what in the world could be causing this? its overiding the bump stop and hitting and rubbing my right rear tire, which has fender grooves in it now...i dunno how much more rubbing on the tire it can take

Now are you sure your bumpstops are not rotted away, should look like this:

What kind of shocks, springs, bushings, etc. did you install? Also what size wheels and tires are you using?

Tire rubbing is usually from either lowering the car too much or running a wider (10"+ wide) whee/tire combo, if not both, without rolling the fenders.

bumpstops are brand new, eichbach springs, bilstein shocks, moog bushings,215/60/16....whats getting me,its only doing it on the right rear....are there anymore bushings back there that might need to be replaced? maybe the pan hard rod bushings? its never done this in the 15 years ive had it.

Eibach Sportlines maybe? Those shocks with new bushings and 215 tires shouldn't be causing this kind of issue. Are you sure everything was installed properly?

yep sportlines.....i agree with you it shouldnt be causing this, and yes everything has been installed properly....maybe too much lateral movement because of bad panhard bushings?

Ok... this makes more sense now. Sportlines lower between 1.75"-2". That's a lot more spring rate than Bilsteins are made to handle. Bilsteins are made to handle springs with a 1" drop, at most. More than that and you're prematurely wearing out the shock, if not bottoming it out internally. Once a shock bottoms out, it can't dampen, and the bump stop, chassis, or tire are left to catch the force of the bump. Thus you get the tire rubbing.

Measure the other side to see how much adjustment you would be able to make and then consider an adjustable panhard rod.

I had the same feeling about the springs being too much for the shocks but had no experience with the setup in question so I held back.

Am I wrong in thinking that the lower your drop the more firm you want your shocks?

the tire rubbing is only happening on the "rear passenger side".....i found an airbag system on amazon last night next day shipping for free, it should be here in a lil while, gonna have to throw them in there till i can figure this out.

Give the adjustable panhard rod a try then and see if that helps your situation.
