  • Not lowering...

I've decided to not lower my car, but I know my current suspension is pretty much worn out. Original shocks and springs, the front seems fine but the back makes a weird noise. When I press down on the spoiler base and the rear drops, when it bounces back it makes a noise. To me, it sounds like a spring like when you sit on a bed.

So I need some good suggestions for some replacement suspension parts. I won't be lowering, so take that into account. What would be some good shocks and non-loweing springs? Thanks.

1LE springs would be a great replacement and i'm pretty sure it'll give you the same ride height... also new shocks will help out alot... while your at it might as well get sway bars, LCA's, PHRod, and whatever else you want do it all at once, maybe that is a little much, but with the shocks and springs, that should be good...

Although replacing springs and shocks is a good idea, it is very possible this wont take away the sound your hearing. It could be coming from and of the rubber bushings down there, check em out and see whats really causing the noise first.

I'd check out getting a set of polyurethane bushings. the rubber ones can deteriorate quick in certain climates. if this does not fix the problem, then at least the car will handle a lot better, and you'll know you'll need new springs. 1LE springs will work well and are a little more aggresive w/ the spring rates, and the rears are progressive which helps when drag racing and cornering hard. I'd get shocks too because the stock shocks don't dampen as well as they should, according to some guys on the board. I suggest HAL, QA1, or Koni. these are high-quality shocks and are ride quality adjustable for if you wanna go drag racing, autox, road racing, or just everyday driving. they have little knobs on them so it's easy to adjust them. they run about 800 or so for a set, max.
