  • Stock sway bar bushings....

My sway bar is constantly making noise, I grease the bushing, it goes away, but comes back. I cant seem to find the bushings at autozone, can someone link me to them? Its a 2000 V6...Thanks in advance

What do you mean when you say "I greased the bushings"?
If you just use the Lithium Grease Spray, try removing the bushings and grease them inside and out with a good Moly Grease. You can get a can of it at any auto store.
The spray usually doesn't penetrate the bushing(s) enough, so the squeak comes back a little later.

I assume you didnt take off your sway bar to get grease INSIDE the bushing.

ASFA grease, I'd say a synthetic moblie 1 chassis grease, its red and I found it at pepboys.

        so what grease is better/best?
2k2 camaro, K&N, SLP whisper lid, Konis, AEM, HP Tuners, Angel eyes/Halos, CF SS ram air hood, 4.10s, Zexel Torsen, UMI SFCs, CrossFire, BFGs, Gatorback, Catco, Flows, and TLC! DONT feed the Trolls!

anything is better than nothing, but the mobile1 was pretty cheap.

I did take them off and used the exact same grease mwh mentioned, its back and in full force, I tried the litium too before trying to fully regrease them, so anyone answer my original question? I still cant find them...What size is the stock bar even, I get conflicting answers all over the place.

              Sorry dude =/

If you have a caliper you could find out the size.... or just call a chevy parts place and find out the size. Lmperformance.com should have some nice enegry bushings.

Hmm I never thought of using the caliper, I was just thinking it went by circumfrence not diameter, dont know why I had that idea, thanks, ill measure it up today. Its really driving me crazy.

Heh, even if it did go by circumfrence... you could use that neat little math trick ;)

BTW: are you SURE its the bushings? maybe it could be something else?

Although that wouldnt explain why it goes away for a lil while then comes back...
