Argh, 17x9.5 won't fit

IDK how this is happening, but it is.

The wheels I bought

# Wheel size 17 x 9.5
# Offset 56 mm
# Bolt pattern 5 lug, 4.75

and the tires I bought

Dunlop SP5000 275/40/17 will not just bolt onto my car.

They seem to fit the front ok, but not the back; They rub the outside of the bump stops. Well, only the right one really, the left one has about 1/4" of room on it.

But now my questions, how the hell is this possible? Is my rear really out of aligment that bad? Even if so, if it was centered, the wheels/tires would only have like 1/8" of an inch on either side....

Sounds like something with your rear because I have the same size wheels and the same size tires.

Hmm, you know how much clearence you have on your bump stops? Cause even if it was dead center, it would be very very close.

do you mean part of the innerfenderwell? or the actual bumpstops the rear axle hits?

The rubber bumpstop/bracket that it attaches to.

This sounds like I need an adjustable panhard bar, does it not?

We solved the same problem with wheel spacers...1/4" did it if I remember correctly...cheap and easy...and a hammer on the inner forward rear fender panel was necessary too...never had any bump stop problems...rp

I tired 5/16" wheel spacers, but then the lug threads werent long enough =( It was just multiple littel setbacks in a row.

PS: it clears the fender lip on the top? it looked very close also, but I only saw it when it was on a lift, not with a load.

Those are the same wheels I have. Mine were factory replica Zr-1's, and whne I installed mine, they wouldnt fit on the rear. The middle part that the wheel goes over (the round circle of metal inside of the studs). So I had to grind mine down a little. Make sure you are not having this problem, and trying to press the wheel on. :(

Yeah, mine fit over the hub easily. IDK why yours didn't.

I am hopefully get my panhard bar today for this weekends project, along with a wizzer wheel to make em fit =)

Well I got a plumb bob and a square, the right was off by 1/4".

So I got me one of them adjustable panhard bars and installed it today.

My only qualms with the bar, is when using the gease gun, gease only came out the lowest "channels"; Am I suppose to rotate the bushing or something, cause I couldnt get grease into the rest of it.
