  • spring and shock installation costs?

hey, just called a little suspension shop and they said it would be about 250 for installation for my eibach prokit and bilstein hds on all four corners.. does this sound like a good price?? the bilsteins will be like 290 off bimmer and the eibachs maybe off ebay for like 185+shipping...roughly 230 and then another 250 for install? i duno what a reasonable price is so if you have any ideas lemme know....

i would be doing it myself but MOTHER is afraid that the evil eibach springs will kill me or that my beloved birdy will fall on my face and crush me. oh well....maybe i should make her pay the install LOL... thanks in advance

That is a good price. I got mine installed for $400, but that was with the lower control arms, panhard bar and front sway bar. So I guess $250 is about right.

i got my shocks, sway bars, and alignment done for $120. it would have been $100 w/o the sway bars, but i figured it would be much easier since the car was on a lift. i know a guy here that owns a 3rd gen and recently bought a 98-up formula that has his own alighment shop and will install parts for fellow f-bodies for cheap. if you have someone who knows exactly what they're doing, it will take 2 hours at most from start to finish. when the places quotes you on a price, most likely they are looking up the procedure on a computer and it tells them an approx time to install the stuff. find out what they charge per hour and stick around when they install the stuff. you will get to see that it doesn't take as much time as estimated on the computer and only pay for the amount of time worked on the car.

I'm getting the same setup installed Monday from a highly reputable shop for $175, alignment included. Then when I get the cash I'll be adding a 30 or 32mm front sway bar, LCA's, and relocation brackets. But hell, $200 or less is a deal compared to what some of these guys have paid.
