I can see you're new to the site, welcome!
One of the more useful features of the site is the search tool. It's in the upper right hand corner, underneath the "post a poll" button. There was a topic with almost the exact same title as yours posted previously, not too long ago if I remember. Perform a search in the appropriate section and it's likely you'll come up with a plethora of information, especially on this commonly asked question.
While being lowered does have to do with appearance of the car, your question relates more to your suspension setup. It would probably have been best posted in the section. This post will likely be moved by moderators.
And, to get back to your question, your plan should DEFINITELY include getting new shocks with your springs. The new springs will eat your stock shocks alive. A body kit will definitely look nice with your car low. I would suggest the Eibach pro kit for the springs, and Bilstein HDs for the shocks.
Were you planning on lowering it yourself? Installing new springs and shocks isn't too hard despite what you may think, and there is a lot of information on it on the site. I lowered my Camaro myself, pictures are in my signature. I only dropped it one inch from the stock height, but I can always answer any questions you may have about your install. What body kit did you plan on getting?

springs: 1.0"-1.5"
body kit: 2"-4"
both together will pretty much throw your car to the ground. i just hope that if you do this, you dont ever have to go up some type of incline like a driveway.....speed bumps too

I lowered my car and have a body kit. So you can take a look at my car to see how it looks. I went with HAL springs and shocks. I decided 1LE springs in the back however even though they aren't lowering springs I have a fair amount of stereo equipment that weighs it down.98 Bright Red Camaro
Too many mods to list....check my website
