I have 255/50/16's on mine and I love em'!! But I just got a flyer in the mail from www.tirerack.com and their Z rated Yokohama AVS 245/45/16's are on sale for $64.00 a piece. I'm going to need new tires soon, so I may consider these. Never owned a set of Yokohama's, but hopefully someone here has and they can give you some input on their quality if you're considering them too.

The P245/50 has the most choices of tire and the lowest useable sidewall, while the P255/50 has a good selection of tire choices and is a good drag/launch capable tire with still very good road performance.

I personally prefer the P255/50 for the extra width, and the fact it looks "beefier" on the wheel.

I like the performance and look of the 255/50/16, that's why I have them.

In P245/50R16 here are my recommendations:
Kumho 712's for the price concious
                Potenza RE910s for long wear
Yokohama ES100 if you want the newest in technology for a low price
Dunlop SP5000 for quiet ride, great wear, superior rain/snow, and handling

For P255/50R16 here are my recommendations:
Kumho 712's for the price concious
Dunlop SP5000 for quiet ride, great wear, superior rain/snow, and handling

The only others I might consider would be more expensive, too expensive for a 16" tire IMO, such as the Firehawk SZ50EP.
