  • v8 shocks and springs

So I have now heard both ways on this one. Maybe you guys can hash is out for me...it would be greatly appreciated. Will v8 t/o shocks and springs work on the rear of a v6 (98)? what about the rest of the suspension components? I have heard they do and handle well...and I have been told it would ride like a make truck and handle horribly...so which is it? Thanks

nope, they'll work just fine... it may sit a little higher in the front, because of weight differences, but it'll work... and check the tech database...

the rear will be fine.. its the same..

I would not do the front springs however..
      replace those w/v6 springs..

all of the shocks are fine if you are jsut looking for a stock replacement

I have the stock V8 springs and 32/21mm sway bars and it rides and handles fine.

Ditto. No complaints whatsoever. 1LE LCA's & PHR to be installed this weekend. We'll see how that feels.

ok, i think my plan for now is to just replace the rear shocks and springs (with the V8 T/O....i am short on cash (aren't we all though). The front ones seem to be doing fine to me anyway. SLP I believe sells them seperately as components. Maybe just throw a strut brace on the front for now till more cash is in hand. Then I will just get it all done right but now I need a quick fix. Thanks for the input guys.

If you have a 98 you already have the same rear springs as a V8:
