I ordered 17 x 9 rims and i am running low on funds. I remember a few of you guys have them Kumho ecsta 712s i think.. that were fairly good priced. Are these good tires? This guy in my car club(he thinks he is always right) said they are horrible. true or no? I heard good stuff about em and i told him that and he laughed at me! coulda ya guys reply with your thoughts on them..what is a good size tire for 17 x 9s? thanks a million f- buddies =D

Very good tires for the price. Good traction, handling, and feel. Don't go through them like putty either. Also look nice. I give them

I'm running the Kumhos (255/50/16) and visited the track yesterday. They're a harder tire, so they last longer, and with the huge groove down the middle the wet traction couldn't be better. On my first pass at the track, I just spun them real quick to clean them off and then staged. I launched at about 1800 and after a quick chirp off the line I laid the pedal down to full throttle. The spinning begins. I feather it out as best I can then finally get moving enough to drop it in second. The second gear spin was worse than first. I spun entirely through second then shut down and coasted the rest of the way down for my outstanding 16.2 second run. On my next pass I gave a good burnout (not a roasting, but a good heat) before I staged. I launched at around 2000 this time and got off the line great. I babied it into second and didn't even chirp. On my next pass did the same burnout, but when I shifted, I threw it hard into second and only gave a good chirp. My conclusion: The Kumhos are outstanding tires, especially for the money. Off the line they'll spin if they're cold, but if you heat them up good, they stick like glue. I give them as well.

I have really enjoyed my kumho's so far. Good wet traction and haven't noticed any wear on them yet.(10,000mi) I'll have to try doing a burnout at the track next time to see if a can get even better traction.

I've had them for about a year. They're great. I've noticed when they are cold you are all over the road until they warm up.

I got mine from http://www.discounttiredirect.com Their tires are about the same price as tirerack, but my shipping was cheaper than tirerack. I don't know if it will be cheaper for you though.

Not for a 255-35-18. That might be a quote for a different size and/or width-profile.
