  • Rear noise during hard acceleration

Not sure if this is a common problem.... My 00' Camaro makes some rear noise (a sort of metallic clunking) when under hard acceleration at a turn. It is especially noticable if at a stop, and I then gas it into a right-hand turn. Any idea what this could be? It only occours during the hard acceleration, otherwise the rear is silent.

    Thanks,
    Bob

Pinion nut & crush sleeve is backing out or is due to its age, or rear sway bar bushings, need greased.

Mabey one of your sway bar end links is broken.

Maybe be rear lca bushings, get some moog solid ones if you still have stock.

could also be an endlink. but Im thinking bushnigs, youll need 4 of them

my guess is an end link, they are usually the first suspension piece to go

If you drive your car hard I recommend changing out sway bar end links and bushings fairly regularly. I know I've worn mine down HARD before. Last time I changed the fronts I couldn't even get the washers off the from end links, they fused to the bolt... on both sides. The bolts also looked like beavers were trying to fell them (like a tree).

It was raining today so I coudlnt get under my car, but I will put it up tomorrow if weather permits, and take a look at the sway bar, bushings, and end links. If i remember correctly, the end links looked rusted up last time I had the car up. I wouldnt be surprised if theyre about to give up the ghost...

So it looks like my sway bar is fully intact, however as you guys said, the bushings are pretty old looking; somehow forgot to look at the end links. Ill prob be able to replace them in about a month or so when I have access to my neighbors lift again. In the meantime, do you guys recommend anything to grease the bushings with?
