Hello I am new to the 4th gen camaros,I've had my car 2 weeks now,I'm pretty sure it has base model suspension, but how much body roll should these things have? Of course the dealer says "thats just how they are". I've checked the swaybars and other suspension items and they are all tight and in good condition.I know the obvious answer is "who cares buy better suspension" but I still want to know what would be considered normal. My 88 fullsize bronco handles better than this car!!

Thants funny, I have had my car for one week and 2 days and I am getting useto the handling. My last car was a 88 Z24 cavalier and that car was awfuel, I like the handling of the camaro but at times it does seam to go it's own way, I do feel that it sticks to the road better when my foot is on the gas and not on the brakes and I am powering through the turn.
My other cars I drive are my dad's 95 Chevy Astro and my mom's 2001 Jetta, the camaro out handles the jetta with no problem and the Astro is not even a thought :D
I would test drive a nuther one at a different dealer and see if it feels different.~chris~ 98 Cayenne red Camaro 3800 A4, 3:08, T tops Borla cat-back, wisper lid K&N, Bilstine shocks, Dunlops all around.
AOL IM: chevyboyz24

It should be able to out handle a ford bronco, if not you might have some problems. As for body roll, it has a little, it is a 3,600 lb car. If you want to reduce it, get some progressive lowering springs and some 1LE Swaybars. That should take care of any roll you think you have.-Jason
Black 1993 Pontiac Firebird -Retired
Black 2002 Pontiac Trans Am -Sold-
Green 1996 Corvette Convertible -Sold-
In the market for \'67-\'73 Firebird!

From my experience, the newer (98+) cars don't handle as well stock as the older (93-97) cars did. That's partly due to smaller sway bar sizes (28mm front/15mm rear), allowing for more roll. You can flatten the suspension out by using larger diameter sway bars (such as those found in the 1LE package F-bodies-they are 32mm front/21mm rear). Also, changing your springs & shocks out will help. I just did the 1LE sway bar upgrade, and I really like how the car handles now. I still have to install the 1LE LCA's & PHR, but the sway bars have already made a huge difference in how the car handles. For more info about the 1LE suspension, go to the technical database, and find the category about GM's factory packages-the 1LE autocross package is mentioned here in good detail. Also, companies such as BMR, LG Motorsports, and SLP carry suspension components for the F-body (or you can get the part#'s and order 1LE and V8 parts from www.gmpartsdirect.com.)
BTW, moving to HANDLING.
