I just picked up a 3.42 posi rear for my '96 m5 Camaro. The rear is lacking the backing plates, the calipers and the rotors. I have a few questions:

    1) Where can I get the backing plates cheap? They are expensive directly from GM Parts. CamaroZ28.com doesn't seem to have any... that was the first place I looked.

    2) Should I get late model V6 rear calipers/rotors? or should I get the ones that should have been on the car it is from (95TA)? Or are they the same?!

    3) The only other thing I need is the brake cable, right?

I'm looking to tackle this next weekend... so any advice would be appreciated. I hear it's pretty much a straight bolt on... I have access to a garage with air tools and I will buy some kind of spray to loosen the bolts... I just want to make sure I am not forgetting anything.

I appreciate any tips you can offer!

Pretty soon I'll leave 2 patches instead of one! ;)

Try the guy in Bristol, PA. here:
    http://www.fparts.us/
He isn't too far from you if you live in/near Southern NJ, and he'll have everything you need. That is where I bought my rear from, and he had about 30 f-body's in his lot that he was parting out. Also, with the brake rotors and pads, buy the one's made for the 95 T/A. I'm kinda sure they are the same as the V6 Disk Rear(s), but why take a risk? You'll need the E-Brake Cables for a disk rear too, and the guy above has them also. Other than that, it's a straight bolt-on! I did it a few weeks ago and I LOVE the posi rear!!!! My car has more UMMFH now.
If you need any assistance, E-Mail me, I'll be glad to help.
Good luck, and enjoy when it's installed!
