So I'm getting some conflicting information when I search/talk to people.

Trying to get this Ford 8.8 rear end underway, and I am told I need to switch to the chevy disc brakes in the back...Some of the stuff I'm reading says that for a 93-97 car that we can only use LT1 brakes because the LS1 calipers take up more fluid? therefore I would have to change my MC?

Can anyone confirm this? I have a couple guys that have given me decent offers on total LS1 brake setups...calipers/pads/rotors/brakets etc, but I dont want to pick this stuff up if I can't use it.

    Re: rear disc swap

I know I uses LT1 brakes and it was simple to do. I know theres a reason we can't use 98+ brakes FireBirdGT , Robert woould know, might PM him or see if he responds. I know I''m doing LS1 style brakes on the front here soon. Also use the shims if you do yours or the rear will squeek when making turns.

where can you get shims? I'm getting these from most likely a partout car...

Keep in mind these arent going on the stock rear end, they are going on the Ford 8.8, the guy building the rear says the discs will fit, I don't have ABS on my car anymore, so I don't care about the ABS stuff that I read there was issues about.

I'll also be getting custom moser axles...the the 98+ axles being a different length dont matter to me either...

Look under the writeups for the disk swap , it has all the info you'll need. Here you go: For shims either a service dept. or GMpartsdirect.com I think it is , there like $20 shipped I think it was.
