  • I need a picture!

Can someone grab me a picture of how their rear disk brakes are being held on? trying to figure out what the bracket looks like that connects to the axle housing...and is there a backing plate? or is it just the rotor that goes on the axle hub?

    thanks!

I believe I have the mounting plates.....what are you putting them on(I know this is a dumb question, but I want to make sure your not swapping to a 3rd gen or something)

i'm putting them on my 96 camaro...actually on a ford 8.8 rear, but the guy building the rear has told me that any LT1/LS1 brakes will fit the rear...Let me know how much you want for them!

Is the mounting plate suppose to be threaded? Or is it just that piece attached to the caliper that is suppose to have threads?

The mounting plate is not threaded on mine. Mounts to the housing end with four bolts and then caliper mount is threaded. This is a 93-96 setup.

Awesome that helps alot...How do you put pads in correctly? I'm having yet another issue with the pad being too thick and not being able to go around the rotors...whats the deal here? no one else seems to have these problems??

Use a C clamp to push the one side in on the rotor just like doiing the front brakes.

i bought a pad seperator, and I dont have the caliper hooked up yet, so the cylinder is fully depressed...maybe I might just go buy name brand pads tommorrow like hawk...maybe then I wont have an issue...

Also if you have new rotors they might be a tight fit until you drive on them.

there isn't even the clearance to fit the caliper over the rotor with the pads at the moment...

I need to run new rear brake lines to...does anyone know what the fitting is for the rear rubber splitter piece? is it a bubble or a double flare? Apparently the piece going into the caliper is bubble flare...

                              Sorry about not responding sooner.

The brackets I have after investigating will probably wont work. I just put 4th gen brakes on my bro's third gen and that needed special adapter brackets, so I assume you will need the same to make it all work properly.
