• Sway bars on

Put on my sway bars yesterday and wow, I figured I'd feel maybe a little difference but I feel alot more than I thought. The car feels alot tighter in corners, I've been having way too much fun with them. :D I went with the 32mm 1le for the front with prothane endlinks, and 19mm rear with the prothanes as well. I debated getting the 21mm rear bar but which is better is highly debated and 19mm is cheaper so that made up my mind. Install wasn't too bad, took us about 3 hrs, including letting the car cool down and letting the bolts soak for a while. The hardest part was getting the old endlinks off, thankfully one broke off. The other three were a pita. Anyway I highly recomend getting new sway bars, makes the car feel alot more solid in turns and curves

32/19 should work well for you and I know it made a big difference compared to stock :D

Glad you like them, good deal on the bushings too! Don't forget to grease the swaybar insulators or they'll squeak after a few months of use.

well you have endlinks, duh. Then you have the rubber or poly bushings which the bar sits in, which is bolted to the car using a U-bracket of sorts.

Grease the inside of those bushings even if theyre rubber.

Ohhh, ok I feel like a retard, bushings=insulators, I should have figured that out. I did grease them, very much, they're prothanes as well and came with a tube of grease, I used it all, it was oozing out the sides :D hopefully it won't squeak now

eventually they will don't worry.. ;) I'm not sure about the interval there are too many other things that could come into play but greasing them somewhat regularly is gonna be a good idea.. proably every couple of oil changes or something like that..

Where did you get your swaybars and bushings from, and how much did they run you?

you can get the bars and bushings from GMpartsdirect.com

Part numbers can be found in the tech database

The stock 1le bushings are "ok" but i would recomend a kit from energy, prothane, or pst

energy and protane can be had from all sorts of places.. including our board sponsers..
pst is expensive but they are nice i guess..
www.p-s-t.com

there may be a cheeper palce out there for the bars.. i am not sure

I got my rear bar used off an 02 ss from ls1.com and ordered prothane endlinks and bushings from thunder racing. I got the front bar from a friend in a local car club who upgraded to a 34mm solid bar.

Front bar and endlinks/bushings (used) - $50
Rear bar (shipped) - $30
Rear endlinks/bushings (shipped) - ~$30

Get prothane endlinks/bushings, I belive that's what comes with it if you order the poly endlinks from gmpartsdirect. They don't squeak at all and are very cheap. The person I bought my front bar off of used energy suspension for his new bar and they squeak, his prothanes never did.

nawww.. gm makes their own bushings..

and they WILL squeek.. its just warm now (the bushing is softer).. when it get colder and they harden up you will probably be taking that statement back.. unless you grease them alot..

Go buy some marine grade moly grease. Grease all 4 endlinks and all 4 bushings thorougly.
