wow... yeah, just go to any autoparts store and ask the guy at the counter for a grease gun, flexible hose, and a tube of decent grease for all around purposes. that should keep you covered. most parts on your car could have a grease fitting (ball joints, u-joints, etc) but if they are factory parts, they have the factory "lifetime grease" in them and probably have no grease fitting. However, that grease, or rather the seals keeping the grease in place, are not lifetime parts. Once they fail, youll be replacing them with aftermarket parts that nine times outta ten come equiped with grease fittings. use a grease gun... its much easier than whatever the old fashioned way is that you are intending on doing....

Seriously, yes. You grease them so they don't rust and squeek down the road. If you don't install them, water and dirt will get inside, and you'll be in a world of hurt, and/or annoyance later.
Grease guns run from about 3-20$ dollars, depending on how much grease they hold, and the attachments included. The 3-5$ gun (Advance, AutoZone,Wal-Mart) that comes with a tube of grease, is more than enough. You can even grease your suspension afterwards. (highly recommend)
Can I ask you a serious question though? How is it you don't know any of this? Very new to the mechanical scene?

Yeah, you never see them on tie-rods, ball joints, or steering rack joints at all.
