OK so I installed my passanger side new KYB shock and after spending two days on that, having to saw zaw my way thru the old shock to get the spring off to reuse it and other various problems, I had a shop install the driver one. Had it installed 10 days ago and about I'd say 4-5 days ago there's a creak noise coming from that side. If you rock the car up and down you can hear it, side to side you can hear it but it's only from that side..

researched online and some people say it's possible something's loose but I'd like to hope a professional shop wouldn't leave a suspension part loose.

one guy said, it'll just go away on its on

one guy said the sway bar end links are causing it or something about the sway bar being at a different angle.

    anyone run into this?
Could it be related to the other high pitched squeal that comes from this same tire? I thought it was brake related(since it occured after my rotor/pad install) but i'm doubting that now
Still think it is the wheel bearing is bad but now I got the high pitched squeal and this creak noise..and I am not a fan of noises..need some help here

    Re: creaking noise

Sounds like the shop didn't tighten the shock bolt all the way down.

really? Why would it have taken a couple days to start making this noise then?
should I call the shop and see what they say?

        Re: creaking noise

and are you talking about the lower shock bolts or the nut that holds the upper shock mount into place?

The nut for the shock itself, just one that gets tighten down top of the shock.

You'd be amazed at what those bastards will do. I had to have a shop do some wiring for me, not only did they leave empty blister packs of wiring in my engine compartment, they managed to strip one of my headlight motor gears. I'm now know as the "crazy firebird guy" there because of how pissed I was.

yea I had firestone change my oil and they lifted the car where the fender connects to the frame and bent the fenders out so bad I could stick my entire hand between the fender and door and they tried saying it wwas like that. I told them I know my car better than they know it and it definently wasn't like that so they ended up fixing it but I still can tell its a tad bent still.

                Re: creaking noise

I'm taking the car back up there today. I called the guy and played dumb and asked if it was normal to hear a creak noise after they installed it and if it was safe. I told him I installed the other 3 shocks and hear no such noise and he says oh bring that back right away. I never like noises that occur after somethings installed, we need to check that out asap.

Is he gonna do the work for free because he possibly forgot something? No sense in paying him twice for the work.

                    Re: creaking noise

I always say this. Work on your own car. You should have replaced every single peice of the front shock assembly. Meaning new mounts, insulators, isolators and seats. Then bam all is new. **** the dustcovers. Keep the bumpstops.

guy put it up on the rack and shot wd 40 on every bushing. he says it quit creaking after the lower control arm bushing got a shot of it. whatever works.

                        Re: creaking noise

OK. Noise has returned, sprayed every bolt, bushing, connection, everything on the front driver side suspension. No luck on the squeak. You can hear the squeak when driving and going over bumps, when you get out of the car and the car goes up. if you push on the front end and compress the spring/shock, you hear it. Without getting the car up on jackstands, it sounds like it's confined to the wheel well area, possibly upper control arm, but I don't know what it is. All i know is i replaced the other 3 shocks myself, have no noises, had a shop do this one, and this noise won't go away. I've read online and people say it's the sway bar, anyway to check and be sure?
                        Anyone have similar issue?
