I need a set of rear shocks. Anybody have any ideas? I want a nice ride.

If you're just changing the rear then stay with something close to stock. Try Z28 take-offs from www.slpeng.com. They are very cheap. Just a little stiffer then your current V6 ones. I'd do the front also.

Yes, I'd say to go with the Z28 take-offs from SLP. I ordered front and rear take-off shocks from SLP (www.slponline.com) for only $37.50 + shipping. Granted the total came to about $65 with shipping, but that is still very cheap for all 4 shocks. I'm having them installed on Monday. I'll let you know how they feel.

I just replaced mine with the SLP takeoffs today. I have only driven it a short while but it feels much more solid than the originals with 70K miles on them. You feel the bumps a little more, but they got rid of the floating Cadilac impressions my car had been doing.

I did the install by myself...correction, I tried to do the install by myself. The rears were easy. Put the rear of the car up on jack stands, place a jack under the rearend to remove the load from the shocks, and unbolt. Didn't have to remove the swaybar or the springs.

The fronts were a different story. After removing both shock/spring assemblies, which is more complex than the rears but certainly doable, I realized the nuts had rusted quite badly on the shock shafts. It was difficult to determine where the nut stopped and where the shaft began. Took them to a shop to have them changed out. After soaking them with PB Blaster, it took 5 and 10 minutes of constant abuse with an impact gun to get them loose. There is no whay I would have been able to get them out on my own. Just a warning if you plan to do the swap at home :D
