  • Need info QUICK on tires

Gotta go to work in 45 minutes, want to order some tires off tirerack by then

What size should I get? What brand should I get?

I have 255/50/16 on now in the Kumho Supra but they only lasted 35,000 miles. I would like a tire that lasts longer

I can get some dunlaps local from sears for about $150 a tire mounted and all, is that good? and those are in 245/50/16's

cheapest i found was at tire town, cooper cobras 245/50/16's for $117 each

    are those good tires?

should i go local? or get em off the net?

    PLEASE HELP ME!!!

I need to find out soon before I go to work

      what if i went with a 245/45/16?

i'm not sure if i want 255's again b/c they're so wide that they tug a lot while driving... i hear 245 are better for cornering...

would a 45 height be too low? i dont want low profile but i would want something that was a little closer to the rim then now b/c it looks like a fat tire.

i wish someone would reply =(

245's aren't going to be that much different from 255's. I don't think 35,000 miles out of a Z rated tire is that bad. A height of 45 will look OK with 245 width.

would 245/45/16's hurt anything b/c of the tire not being high enough?

would a different rated tire last longer?

I have the dunlop sp sport 5000's 245/50/16, and I hate them. Cornering is great but they have terrible traction when your trying to hook up from a stop, even worse when it is raining, they also lose air pressure faster they anytires I've ever owned. I wouldn't expect more than 35000 out of the dunlops.

I got myself some Firestone Firehawk SS20 235.55.R16 They are AWESOME. Awesome handling on dry and wet. They were only 78 bux a tire from TireRack.com. Any other firehawk tire is gonna blow most competitors off the road. Also Bf Goodrich Comp T/A is nice. Long lasting.

you might want to check out slp, they have 245-50zr16 goodyear G-SC's for like $99. each.

I really like the bridgestone pontenza line-up. right now i have the RE910's, but plan to upgrade to the RE950's for a higher speed rating, & I've heard the RE730's are excellent as well.
