I had my back wheel off today checking the brakes. I always thought they were pretty heavy, they are y2k vette rims 17x8.5. So, I got a scale and rolled it up on it. I was suprised the wheel and tire weighs 57 pounds. My stock wheels and tires weighed 45 pounds each. Is it bad that my wheels weigh that much? Also, this might be a stupid question but how do I know if these wheels are chrome or polished? I can't tell a difference. Oh yeah I have 255/45/zr17 Kumho ECSTA Supra 712 tires vs. stock 235/55/r16 eagle ga's.

my slp ss take off 17 x 9's with 275 40's weigh 47 pounds each
my stock 16 x 8 5 star's with 225 50's or 245 50's weigh 46 lbs each

hey james...could you use thos drag lite rims as daily driver rims?
have u ever seen that picture of magnus's car. i want rims like that.. with big ol' fat tires inthe back, and skinnies in the front..
