My car failed inspection this year on rear brakes. Drums are shot. I have the parts for a disc conversion, just havent gotten around to it. I mentioned the swap to the garage doing the inspection, and they said that ANY alterations to the brake system is a violation to PA law?
Anyone have any ideas about this? I could see maybe aftermarket setups, but Im putting on factory equipment. Im thinking just install it and take to a different shop for the sticker. Any ideas??

I put a disk rear in my car and absolutely zero probs with inspection. I even had the mechanic ask me where I got the disk rear from so his son could buy one for his Camaro.
Get the disk setup in there and try another shop.
By alerations, (I'm guessing) they mean something like line-locks. I dunno because I've never encountered that problem.
I'll look it up in my PA Crimes Code Books when I get in work tomorrow.
the guy doing the inspection would have to konw off hand that the camaro came with disk or drums, and check the codes every time. if its installed right, it should look like stock equipment.
