Ok guys. I found out why the abs inop light is coming on. the abs motor pack is bad. they're wanting 460 bucks to fix this. is there anyway i could do this myself, or would it just be best to swallow my pride and let them do it?
thanks,
bill

Just checking, but are you positive that it's a bad ABS unit. Two things that come to mind that will trip that light are a bad alternator, and a blown brake light (especially in the spoiler). Just a thought. I've had both trigger the ABS inop light in my Camaro

yeh. i'm sure that's not it. i've heard of those, but i just changed my alt and replaced all blown bulbs. plus, the abs is indeed inop. plenty of rubber on the road verifies that. the computer told the story. it was the pack, at least i hope. thanks though.
later on bud,

Well getting brake fluid over everything isn't fun, it will quickly eat through your paint and thats not cool. Aside from that, its as simple as turning a few screws, draining the block, disconnecting all the lines, and installing the new one... Then of course bleeding the entire system.
I would imagine it would take a good 6hours to do since its pretty time consuming - although it isn't very "difficult".
sounds like a job for the service center.
