  • squeaky suspension

i recently installed rear lakewood LCAs (they came preassembled.. i dont know if they were greased or not.. but i didnt grease them) and also sway bars with new bushings/endlinks. i greased them very well but im still squakin when i go over speed bumps and such. i bought a grease gun and some lithium grease and tried to grease the grease fittings on the LCA's.. but it doesnt go thru, just pushes around and oozes out on the sides. how does that gun work? do i need a hose or can i simply connect the tip of the gun straight onto the nipple fitting thing? i dont even understand how the grease gets into the palce where the grease is needed by putting the grease thru that whole on the LCA.. but oh well..

any other ideas on how i can make this squeakin go away? thanks.

Did you tighten down the bolts that hold the LCA's on while the car was still jacked up, or after you let it back down. Thats where most people with LCA's end up with squeaky rear-ends.

if i remember right you are suppos to tighten susdension components while they are loaded like it is sitting on the ground.

i do know that is how it is with the shocks.

if i am wrong please let me know

i know this sounds stupid but did you push the gun on the fitting till it made a little click noise?? not alot of pressure is required.

push on them till you hear a click then you should be good

i did but it didnt go all the way on. then when i tried to pull the gun off, it took the grease fitting with it and i had to yank it out of the gun with some pliers. haha.

Ok, they already answered your squeaking problems but let me help you with the grease ;)

first, the end of the grease gun wont go on all the way until it is broken in. you'll need to push it on and take it off many times until it will seat all the way. second, if your fittings are greased all the way, the grease will oz out of the seams. so, if im reading you post right, it sounds like your stuff is greased. if it is just coming out between the end of the gun and the suspension fitting, its just the end not seating properly and you need to refer back to what i said about breaking it in. good day friend. ok, try just breaking in the coupler on the end of the grease gun cause i had the same problem when i got mine...it wouldnt seat so it would just oz out without going into the fitting.
