My stearing wheel shakes when I am doing 55mph and over. Ever since I got the new tires on! I've brought it back for a re-balencing but the damn thing still shakes like hell. It didn't before with my olddd tires. Any idea's on to what is going on? Thanks.

front end alignment most likely.\'96 Quasar Blue Firebird A4
jamiethekiller@comcast.net
my band: woodland

If it only occurs at certain speeds an unbalanced wheel is more likely than alignment.
Possibly a bad balance job, even though you said they tried twice. More likely a bad tire (out of round). If your suspension has looseness, like bad ball joints, a small unbalance that would be unnoticeable may be magnified.2000 Firebird convert, chameleon/tan, M5, Y87, TCS, BMR tower brace and panhard, KBDD sfcs, 245/50-16 GSCs

I'm havin the exact same problem! I just slapped on some new rims & tires, had discount tire co. balance the wheels but the 'maro steering wheel is shakin at highway speeds. I think I'm going to try buying some new tires, I just had an alignment not 3 months ago.Tom
Too many mods for this sig.
My car\'s site

www.FullThrottleV6.com

That would be warped rotors, not out of balance tires.2003 Zinc Yellow Mustang GT 1 of 701
ET : TBD
But our shenanigans are cheeky and fun! It could have been a bad balance job - but if they did it twice (hopefully not by the same possibly inept person) it might be a bad belt in the tire. Inspect the sidewalls closely. It's better to look when the tires are dismounted. Sometimes it's hard to see - even from the inside but especially from the outside. Good luck.\'95 Camaro 3.4 Low miles!
T-tops, Just Black.

I have the same problem while braking heavy, the car like studders and the steering wheel shakes, its kinda annoying especially when I have ladies in the car and they're like whats up with your car?! But like I said it only happens when I brake moderately hard so until it becomes regular I'm not taking it to the dealer, they'd just deny it anyways, the jerks!2002 Black Firebird:
A4, Y87, W68, T-tops
Best NA ET: 15.16 @ 90
http://members.cardomain.com/darksde02
