  • Is this a good price on tires?

I can get the Fuzion ZRi's I want for $367 shipped from tire rack, but then I would have to have someone mount and balance them.
This guy I work with has a friend who owns a shop who said he would do it for $440 including shipping, mounting, and balancing. So thats a better deal assuming it would cost more than $73 to mount the ones I can get on tire rack. What have you guys paid for just mounting and balancing? Thanks

"I have been quoted $10-$12 per tire for mount and balance at Discount Tire."

On tires they sell you, or on tires you bring in? Often makes a big difference.

I paid $20 to mount/balance four 275/40's on my ZR-1 replicas, but that was me bringing in the new wheels and tires off the car. To put the car on a lift, pull off the wheels and swap tires, plus the tire disposal fee it would be more like $40.

Most places will charge you full amount on bal/mounting if you don't buy tires from them. We charge like 4 more a tire if you don't buy tires from us.

i meant 10 balance and 6 to mount. I have been looking to get winter tires put on my old 16" rims and these are average of what i found. Between 65 to 75 bucks. Thats for under size rims like 14,15,16 etc.

I had my rims mounted up at BJs Wholesale (like a Sam's Club) mount & balance was under $30 for all 4 (nothing purchased there), and it was free when I bought the snow tires and put them on my stock rims.

wow you guys are making me feel lucky. The guy i get my tires from. i get four 245/50zr16 goodyear eagle RSA for 120. includes mounting and balancing.

granted they are used. he lets me inspect the tire before i give the OKay. so far every tire i have gotten from him were brand new tires. he gets them from *FHP.
