  • Make my own STB?

I was just curious about how specificly designed the STB's are. My friend works at a bus manufacturing company and they have everything I could possibly need to make one. In fact he made one for his Daytona but it's just a bar welded to some plates that are bolted to the strut tower because he has almost no room under his hood. I guess my question is would it be worth while to attempt making a STB that would offer me decent results or maybe even be as good as buying one.

If this sounds like a good idea:
Does anyone have pictures from a couple angles of their STB so i can get an idea of the dimensions. Or even better does someone have measurements of theirs?

These are the best pics that i have at the moment. I am sure someone has some better pictures. If no one does though, i can always try to take some more that maybe show it in a little more detail and close up.

thanks for the pics, and nice car. So I'm assuming that making one wouldn't be a waste of time? From your pic it looks like it angles back a little bit, is that for clearance?

Yes it angles back a bit, if you want absolute measurements I'll try to give them to you. I also own a BMR silver bar.

Personally though, with the awesome powdercoating and beautiful welds on the BMR bar, I think its worth what he charges for it.

Looking at $200 ricer STB's, you really notice how BEEFY BMR stuff is. If anyone ever breaks a BMR component, they should get a trophy.
