I have a chance to get some Toyo tires for a good price. Would a 225/50/16 tire look too funny? I think it's almost 2 inches less in diameter than stock tires.

Some stock tires were 215s and they don't look "that" bad, if you can pick them up for a really good deal it may be worth it just to have an extra set.

What tires do you have now?

225/50's are gonna be a little less in diameter, but not two inches. If you can get a good price, hell I wouldnt even say no, but your speedo will be off, and the car will look weird. check out this site:

This will pretty much answer any of your questions very easily. Good luck. ;)

will a 16" rim like this look funny on a firebird with the 225 50 16 tires?

or should I wait to find 17 or 18" rims?

I can get the 16" rims with tires for 300US, but thinking I'll wait and save for 17's. I'll just get new tires for my stock rims for now. Gotta pass inspection :(
