with the race track finally open again, i'm looking to put new tires on my car (rears at least) I have 4.10s and I am thinking that 255/50/16's will help me hook a little better. Should I go with these or am I better off with 245's?

You may be better off with 245s just because there are so many more options in that size. 255/50/16 is not a very common size and tend to be more expensive. I'd personally stick to 245/50/16. -
