I just had my sub frame connectors installed the other day and wanted to know if your supposed to weld the rear also. Or does the bolt that connectects to control arm enough. The front has already been welded on the three sides of sfc to the frame.. Thank you for your time. I;m asking because I only had picture diagrames for boxed typed and I didn.t have any for my type. ride on bros

BMR? suposed to weld the rear also
look at the sight. there is a weld point in the rear same as with the boxed. if i can recall corectly its where the old subframe meats up with the connector. its suposed to be welded it shouldnt be just the bolt holding it on then it has a chnace to flex and move, and snap the bolt. u dont want that
Wait, don't these SFCs come with an intruction and a picture where to install or weld it under your car?

You can't snap that bolt....its grade 8 and will not snap with the amount of pressure any SFC will put on it. I never thought that the weld on SFC's needed to be welded anywhere but in the front. All the writeups I have seen don't have it done there. I have some bolt in SFC's that haven't failed yet and have enough bolts that it won't fall out or expand the bolt holes when subjected to extreme force and they are held in by the bolt in the back.

Well I didn't get any picture diagrams with the pkg. but I did get written directions, and I got some picture diagrams for boxed type from somewere onhere but obeiously their not the same so I pretty much emprovised. But I will go ahead and have my bro the welder attempt to complete the welding on tues. I hope I can just jack mup the car and I guess I better remove the bolt and only hand tyn again like before?I guess I'll check in when my ride is complete, thanks for your time and remember.... ride on bros
I've never heard of anyone's bolt in SFCs falling off so why does everyone have such a prejudice towards them? It's not like the bolt is just going through some sheet metal is it? It's the frame of your car for goodness sake, it better be tough enough!

"It's the frame of your car for goodness sake, it better be tough enough!"
It's a "good engineering" deal. It's only tough enough because GM engineers it so the loads are spread out over a lot of it. Bolt on sfcs concentrate load in a very small area. Of course they won't fall off, but they'll flex a bit, which is not the hot setup for sfcs. Weld ons distribute the load better.
Not much going on, replaced my Kenwood double din stereo with a Pioneer double din, the Kenwood had problems. Then replaced my power inverter for my reverse...
