  • Best springs stock height

hi, i have a question about new springs

I have a 2001 3.8V6 Camaro, and i want to have some stiffer (progressive) springs, but i don't want to lower my car, because of the lots of speed bumps in the Netherlands (the airdam hits the speedbump already sometimes)

Are standard SS springs (1LE) the way to go ?, or is this giving a problem because the V6 is not so heavy as a V8 ?

Moog does have some stiffer springs for stock height, are these worth the money ?

    Orginal:
    98-02 Front 257 lbs/in
    98-02 Rear 114 lbs/in

    1LE Front: 360 lbs/in
    1LE Rear: 130-180 lbs/in

    Moog:
    Stock height Front: 290 lbs/in
    Stock height Rear: 104 lbs/in

This what i have done sofar:
    - new adjustable koni's
    - new swaybars (32mm en 19mm SS-ones) and new endlinks
    - UMI 2 point SFC

    Things i will order soon:
    1LE panhard
    1LE bushings LCA

The 98-02 SS springs should work just fine the iron block V6 weighs about the same as an LS1 V8

I've been curious about this too. I have a couple things I want to put on the car, but I don't want to do it till I get the stiffer springs. And I don't want to lower the car.
        1997 Chevrolet Camaro
L26, Pacesetter headers, SLP cai, Centerforce DF clutch, Pro 5.0 shifter, UMI short stick, 1le driveline, J&M 35mm front swaybar, UMI lca's/phb/sfc's, KYB AGX shocks, Hotchkis stb.

i don't know the roads in America, but in the Netherlands all towns do have speedbumps, and some of them are quit hi,
I must drive very carefully to avoid damage on the airdam, and this is with stock height (and koni shocks).
So if i lower my car, i will ruin my front bumper, and that is not an option.

LS1 without tranny weighs in at 482lbs and 3800 V6 at 356lbs (395lbs with SC). Got that info. from RX7 messageboard who transplant both engines and are obese with weight reduction.

Stock V8 springs are stiffer and a better choice for you if you don't want to lower it.
