I need a tire for my 16" rim all suggestions appreciated. I kinda want a tire that will handle well and last at least 30,000 miles.

lasting 30k? depends how you drive it
falken azenis sports (or st115...handles the rain better) are very grippy and have had luck in scca this year
a set of yokohama AVS sports might fit the bill too
also look at the bf goodrich KDW tire. (key features: dry and wet)
all these should hit the spot. Kumho ecsta 712 is a good cheap alternative too, but not nearly as grippy. works liek a charm in the rain, however!hiho silver!

yea i think i am gonna go with the Kumho ECSTA Supra 712 255/50/16 :D wide. I think Domonic said he likes these. Tirerack, $55/tire, Kumho ECSTA 711 P245/50R16 - it'll outlast the 712 by a good margin and its H-rated. I intend to go with a set of these, you can't beat the deal, and it has a normal hipo tread pattern that is proven.2002 5-spd NBM Camaro

If you go with a 245/50/16 your speedo will only be 2% faster. the 255/55 is closer at .5% faster but 2% is not that far off.

I have 245/50s... when I got pulled over for 60 in a 45, I had cruise set at 60. So it's only a very slight difference.

I had the Kuhmo 712's and they wore out VERY fast. Untrue. However they are very close.
I recommend the Kumhos, simply for VALUE reasons. Sure there are better tires out there. But I Beleive that Kumhs give you the most "Bang for the Buck." I see no problem with getting the 711s instead of the 712s. They have the same traction ratings. Better wear, at the cost of a lower speed rating. But, how often to you REALLY go fast enough for a Z-Rated tire?1997 Chevrolet Camaro v6 - 13.8@104MPH
