  • Can I use 2xx/40/16?

I was wanting to get 215 or 225 40 series tires but I'm not sure if they will work on my rims. They are 99-00 Firebird OEM.

If you go to the tirerack.com website and look up the tire you want, you can then click on specs. It will give you a list of all the available tire sizes, and will tell you what the minimum and maximum rim widths will fit it. Like here is the link from tirerack for the Kuhmo Ecsta Supra 712, I got these a few weeks ago for my front tires and like them so far.

yeah, it'd fit, but why have such a small tire?
your gearing/speedometer would be WAY messed up.
if you're gonna go 40 series, grab some 255's

Where can I get a speedo/odo fixer? Can I get I custom chip somewhere?

if u want a narrow tire, u can put
          215/60/16s on with no problem

they're the same height as 245/50/16s

the lowest I have seen are 245/45/16 and they are sweet even on stock rims not to mention real performers when it comes to handling. and the widest I have come across are 265/50/16 for our cars, so it up to what ever look you after.
