I need new rotors for my front brakes as the current factory ones are warped. I was thinking of getting Brembo blank replacements from tirerack.com. I want to know if these are the best ones for daily street driving. Also, are drilled and slotted rotors any good for street use? Are they really worth it? I would think the brake pads would wear significantly faster.

I would recommend them, and have them (since I have 99 brakes on the front).

Only for looks. And yes, with slotted the pads will wear a bit faster. Cross-drilled do nothing.Robert - owner www.FirebirdV6.com/CamaroV6.com

i recently warped a set of my front rotors very bad.. and i was discussing it with a friend of mine, apparently if you torque our lugs to 95 ft lbs it will hold the wheel on , and it will make it a lot harder to warp rotors.
apparently most of the time that rotors become warped is due to the wheel lugs not being uniformly torqued-Aaron, AKA ATL2001
93 3.4L
www.ilfba.com

Cross drilled run a bit cooler, but I dont reccomend them for heavy breaking as they can crack. Slotted rotors keep the pad clean and have a little more "bite". They do run a little bit hotter.2003 Zinc Yellow Mustang GT 1 of 701
ET : TBD
But our shenanigans are cheeky and fun! Slotted and drilled rotors are for looks only in a street application. They are less durable than blank rotors. The reason the racers use them is because at the speeds and temperatures they run, there is a buildup of gasses on the surface of the rotor. The slots and holes allow the gasses to dissapate. Also, most rotor warping is caused by excessive temperatures, not by over-torquing lugs. However, over-torquing legs will cause light-weight wheels to warp. I follow the same process for my Camaro that is recommended for my Corvette - torque to 100 lbs-ft in 3 increments in a star pattern.Mike
2001 Camaro
Light Pewter Metallic Convertible
AU0,A31,C60,DG7,F41,GU6,K34,L36,M30,T82,T96,UN0
If it can\'t be expressed in figures, it is not science; it is opinion.
