You dont think it sits lower in the back cause of the hundreds of pounds of stereo in the back? Just wondering. If you get the springs for a Z28, might as well order the shocks, just not to mess up. I mean I think the shocks are the same, except for the SS shocks, those are different I beleive. But just order Z28 everything. And let me know if you need help installing them, you need a spring compressor for the fronts. Later dude, ;)

I have a spring compressor set and an air compressor (makes compressing it all easy and faster). Anyway let me know when your ready to install them.... If you want to drive out to Katy that is [img]graemlins/burnout.gif[/img] [img]tongue.gif[/img]
By the way you'll need a stiffer spring. I have KYB's and I'm looking into getting stiffer springs now.

I was looking into installation and the rear ones look easy i think i can do those my self. The front ones look really compicated, i guess this is where the spring compressor comes into play?
I still need to check into getting the Z28 or SS springs. Will 98+ springs fit my 94?
The rears are extremely easy. I would even suggest not taking the back tires off. I did the swap the other day (and due to problems could not remove the rear tires) and it was really easy getting the springs and shocks out of the car. I will be working on the front shocks and springs later this week. I plan on bringing my new shocks and springs down to a shop to get them done before putting them on the car instead of using a spring compressor and chopping myself in half :eek: .

Oh, hell yeah. I didnt take off my rear wheels to do the shocks, and the fronts you have to have a spring compressor or be able to benchpress about 1300. :D
Can i replace my rear springs and shocks by my self then?
Some one suggested i lift the car and just let the rear hang and that should be enough slack to let me take out the springs. Should they just pop out or how would that work out?
I want to get all the info i need BC im getting the shocks this friday and i want to put them in maybe this weekend.

Basically yea, you might have to do a little bit of prying to get the springs out and the new ones in but what you were told is correct.
For the shocks you'll have to pull the carpet back in the car to get at the bolts. It's not real hard you can do it yourself.
Today i jacked up the car and put the frame on jack stands and lowered the jack and the rear end went down, i removed a tire and was looking at how much of a PITA to remove the spring. The stock spring is 13.5'' while the Trans Am spring is 15'' so after i saw that i said forget that and just put everything back and i think i will take it somewhere instead.
I have got the KYB G2's and installed them myself last year in auto shop, the fronts were tricky but the rears were quite simple, the ride quality is better than with the decarbons, much firmer

I got my stiffer spings (rear) in this weekend, huge difference (better). If you do not have the rears installed by Oct 2nd come to install day at my house; we can get them installed then.
