I want to put 17' wheels on my car however, I was told that our stock rim/tire combo doesn't evenly match up to any 17' rim/tire combo. I was told that if I put any size 17 I will actually increase my milage pur revolution of the wheel. Is there a rim/tire combo that works without having to adjust the PCM for a diffent size rim/tire.

umm, maybe 285-40-17. I know that 235-55-16, 255-50-16, and 295-35-18 all are very close in diameter, maybe off a few thousandths on an inch.2001 Arctic White Firebird<br />More mods than I\'m allowed to list! -
Yea, 285/40R17 would be your best bet, they would only be off by 0.77%

Get some 17x9 wheels, and 275/40R17s. They are the same height as my winter 215/60R16s. I measured my Kumho 275/40R17s up to my stock michelins. (235/55R16s) Almost exact. Your talking a 1% difference or so.
Just so you know, your speedo will become more and more "off" as your tires wear. From say 11/32nds down to 3-5/32nds. A radius change of up to 1/4 inch!. I won't go into detail on how much that will through you off, but I bet you have never noticed.

I agree with AZ on the tire wear issue - thats the real reason why P275/40 (25.7" high) is in all ways identical to the P285/40 (26.1" high) as far as the odo is concerned.
The other accurate tire choice is the P255/45R17 [img]smile.gif[/img] (fits a 17x8 or wider)2002 5-spd NBM Camaro
