I have the 9.5 inch wide 18" c5 rims with 265/40/18s on right now and they are puny looking... they arent wide enough for the rim, so if i were to go with those hancook 295/45/18s, would they rub? do you think... and what would be more likely to cause rubbing, the horizontal or the vertical size of the tire... OH and i am still having this squeaking from my rear area when i go over speed bumps or bounce the back... i have new shocks, but i had to reuse the old rubber thing for the shocks, could that be causing the issue? its really annoying...

Alot of times, if you changed the spring, and the rear end sagged, the springs could have gotten out of that spot they need to be in there in. There is a certain recession they basically fit right into. But about the tires... I would be worried probably about the height. Just so you know, you speddo is going to be off quite a bit. A 265/40/18 is ALOT smaller than a 295/45/18. I think just go with like a 275 or 285 in a 40 series tire. You will definetly not have clearance issues with those sizes. Good luck. ;)

Edit: Besides those are V-rated tires desgined for an SUV! Definetly choose another tire.

i just got 18x10.5 inch wide rims in the back wrapped in 285/35/18 and they dont rub at all. there is plenty of room in the back. i also have 17.9.5 inch in the front with 285/40/17 and they fit w/o rubbing but if i hit a bump to fast then it would rub. other than that they fit fine
