Re: FINISHED UPGRADING FRONT SUSPENSION, NOW ONTO THE REAR - questions

Any other input on whether or not the bigger stock SS rear sway bar would be better on the V6 camaro or not? I did put in the thicker SS front sway bar on because the consensus is that it really helps on the front.

I have heard from many people that you want to keep the small one on the back though. Thoughts/suggestions??

It would be nice to know since I will have it in the air tomorrow and can swap it if it is actually a good idea

    Thanks

As far as the sway bars I was always told you want to have them matched. If you have a SS bar up front then I would put a SS bar in the rear. People who drag there car a lot usually remove the front bar and add a big rear bar. Makes the car go straight better but around corners sucks..

I jack up the rear of the car and put it on stands. I then jack up the rear end and disconnect the bolts to the shocks. take the shocks out and then lower the rear end. The TQ arm and LCAs are still supporting the rear but it drops down enough for you to get to the springs. Put the new shocks on and bolt up the top bolts then jack up the rear end until the bottom bolts align with the holes in the rear. Its very simple ( which is wierd since its an fbody) and you will be surprised on how fast it can be to change out the springs and shocks in the rear..

Thanks for the advice. Yes, it was really simple. Hardest part is taking that coat hanger out really in the interior. I was surprised on how easy this was compared to the front.

Exactly!!! Just fold down the rear seat and look closely - you'll see the outlines of where the access sections are.
