I am "still" debating on which tire to get. From what I have heard so far it's been 50/50. Which one should I get and why??? I don't want tires on my car that will make it look gay. Thanks Guys Kevin

Here's how I look at it.
Decide on WHAT tire you want. For me it was the Yokohama ES100. And For that tire P245 was my only choice.
If you happen to decide on a tire where P255's are available, by all means get them.2002 5-spd NBM Camaro

I bought 245s but the stock rim could've taken a 255 without looking "rounded". kumho's wear for crap. great rain traction, some road wander, and cheap price r the only good points. 245's will have a slightly smaller sidewall, reducing flex in corners, yet the 255's are wider and have a bigger contact patch. Either one will work. compare the tires at www.tirerack.com2001 Arctic White Firebird<br />More mods than I\'m allowed to list!

Dominic has it right. Other than looks, the specific tire you get is way more important for traction than whether it's a 245 or a 255.2000 Firebird convert, chameleon/tan, M5, Y87, TCS, BMR tower brace and panhard, KBDD sfcs, 245/50-16 GSCs

THIS IS DAM TRUE!!
EX.. my 255-potenza re730's grip a heck of alot better then my 275-Kumho 712.. the compound is simply better.. However its alot more $$..
However if you have found a tire you like.. and it comes in a 255 size.. go for it if you think its worth the money..
IMO.. I wish people would say "I have $***.** to spend on tires.. what do you recomend".. it would make life sooo much easyer in solving these problems..

I agree with what others have said: Choose your tire; if it comes in 255 - get 255. I have 255s and am extremely pleased: look great, handle great, wear has been good.I solemnly swear I am up to no good.
