  • Slight tire rubbing

So every time I turn on a long left sweep or merge to the left I get a slight noise that sounds like tire rubbing. I am running 275/40/17s up there and I recently did front shocks and poly bushings up front along with tie rods. I had it aligned 3 times afterwards, so i dont think its out of alignment. any ideas?

Those tires are big I have. What ever the stocks are sopose to be on the 16s in the front and rear but the fronts side wall is smaller and the rears are slightly larger than normal making it look staggerd I have no probles , have you checked if your tire is actually rubbing

Well the bilstiens I think are universal for the V6 and LS1 cars. That is the right size for an SS or WS6. NTB says that that is the largest size that'll fit on the front axle and the largest that fits on the rear is a 315. I havent looked, because I am scared lol, I just bought them. I do need to look though

275/40/17's aren't the problem, would look at your front bushings to see if they move.

            Probably not the tires.

Looks like the back side of the driver side wheel is rubbing. Not sure why. I just looked. Wouldnt the alignment be messed up if the bushings are having issues?

Depends if they checked your bushings or not, I would check them yourself to make sure.

Pull on the front tires to see if you have movement. You shouldn't have any play with the tires.

Okay I can try that. I also Noticed my rack and pinion is leaking pretty bad, But I dont even know where to start with that one. Shouldn't have any effect on the rubbing I wouldn't think

                        Re: Slight tire rubbing

Hi, from what I read here it seems like the back is a little loose or soft, maybe a bad shock or a bad rear panhard rod bushing, or an antiroll bar link either your differential moving to that side that is causing the noise on that side or the shock on that side is gone...cause you say you ONLY hearing it on long sweeping left, which most likely be the right rear shock

                          Re: Slight tire rubbing

Yeah if I merge to the left, change lanes to the left, or have a long sweeping left, I hear what sounds like rubbing. I just changed the rear lower control arm and panhard bar bushings with energy suspensions, and the shocks I also recently changed with KYBs. The rear is really stiff but I can check the shock mounts
