Starting to look at better rear tires for my trips to the drag strip this summer to replace the BFG Traction T/A's I'm running now. I think the 245/50/16 is the right size and I have kinda narrowed it down to these two tires but maybe y'all can give me more insight on what might be best for my mostly stock 3.8/A4. I will be installing a LSD/3.42's soon.
I forgot about the NT05R's... They made my list also. Seems like theyd be better since theyve got that nice big patch of rubber right down the middle. Being a drag radial, would they require a burnout? Is it going to be too much traction thus making me slower over all?

Yea even when I had street tires I always did some sort of small burnout just to try and get the water off the tires.
I try to go around the water box and pull up enough were I can back up, I back up just far enough where my back tires are on the edge of the water box, start in 2nd, make sure asr is off, and give her hell lol
Yeah, I dig a quick little spin on my tires over the weekend before each pass just to clean them.. No smoke, just a couple revolutions. Mostly because the moron running the Lexas and Jeep Charokee in front of me felt it necessary to roll into the water box and try to do huge burnouts and thus dragging water into the lanes. It was made worse by the kid in the Lexas rolling up to the tree and trying to stage...

What about the NT01's? I know it says for road racing but there is a lot of rubber on those babies and they come in the right size. Are they going to be stiffer on the side walls and less forgiving in a drag racing application?
I have no issues with my street tires. I see no reason for a stock v6 to go and run dr, but thats my opinion. Those traction tas suck about as bad as any tire I have ever had.
Haven’t done anything on the Camaro, but put LEDs on my truck headlights . And my oil pressure sensor went out on the truck so going to fix that this...
