i thought i saw that all models of 97+ firebirds got 4 wheel disc brakes, with the rotors and the calipers
my front ones have them, but my back brakes are the drum ones
i saw a firebird like mine today, it looked a little older than the 97's (it had pinstripes) but it had the 4 wheel disc brakes
any info?
Hey Man, My 97 Firebird has front disc and rear drums as well. I think its 98+ that have 4 wheel disc allt he way around. Hope this helps. I don't know what kind of gears you ahve ,but if you ahve the 3.08 like mine then you'd be better just getting a rear end off of a newer TA or z28 that way you get the posi track, disc brake, and better gears. :D
Yeah it was 98+ or if you have the Y87 package. I am pretty sure. I have the good ole drums too :(
Its a shame because we obviously needed much more brake power than we got, or they would have never changed it to the 4 wheel disc brakes. In the 98+ models, the also got bigger front brakes, and I think 2 piston calipers.
Sucks for us pre 98ers.
