A lot of people get the Kuhmo 711's for their price. Most say they handle very well, including in the rain, but they suck off the line. Also, I think they wear very quickly too.
I have Kuhmo 712's on my front tires, and they handle very nicely. I like mine so far, but they've only been on for like a month so there's no wear yet really. I got mine for $86/tire at tirerack also, but mine are 245/45/17's up front.AIM: Alientr8tr
1998 Camaro 3.8L
Flowmaster 80-series, !FRA, Eibach Springs, KYB AGX, SLP sway bars, 3.42/LSD, Wings West kit, Z06 Motorsports, Silverstone Metallic paint
Shift 5 - My Band

I wouldnt say that AlienInv8r, 711s are very good tires in the rain and probably are far better than stock GAs for launching/highspeed driving. They're not bad at all, and its really the best deal going.2002 5-spd NBM Camaro

how about the Firestone Firehawk Indy 500? From tirerack.com's reviews, that tire seems great and not too expensive too... kinda too good to be true. Any one here using them or have had experiences with them?\'96 dark green V6 Firebird
Y87 Performance package
front license plate with silver firebird insignia
alpine CD deck
T-top
Tinted windows @ 27%
low mileage (just broke 45000 not long ago!)

waiting for first performance mod :)

I bought the Kumho 711's from Tirerack.com about two months ago. I'm install 18 inch 007's this coming weekend, and I'm looking to get rid of the Kumho 711's. The tires have about 1100 miles on them. If you're interested I'll let you have them for $20 each.. You'd just have to cover UPS shipping.2000 Camaro Z/28

96PontV6,
What spec tires are they, for 16's or 17's? If they're for 16's I'll buy them offa ya, no problem. I REALLY need replacements for my car badly. The tires on it now are (I believe) snow tires (they came with the stock rims I purchased to replace the corvette rims that came on the maro when I got it from the dealership, it's a long, involved story). Let me know, my email addy is l32projekt@hotmail.com

94PontV6,
If the tires are the 245/50-16's that page is showing, I'll take 'em. Could you send me your current email addy, the one listed here for the boards got rejected when I sent you an email. I want to make sure this thread stays on-topic.

Im running the Firehawk indy 500's. Only thing I notice with them is that if I turn a corner hard in the rain and accellerate, they chop or lose bite for a second. Very good on dry pavement, quiet!. Only have them for 500 miles or so, but have been very very happy with them. Take into account that I am bone stock, with a stick, 3.8. I bought with tirerack's blessing. Happy so far, but don't know what to compare them to as I changed them 2 weeks after I bought my bird. But, did notice significant difference from the Kelley Chargers on the car.

I wasn't saying that they were bad tires at all. I was mainly just repeating what I had heard when I was shopping around for tires a few months back myself. From personal experience, I dont know how well they are or arent off the line because I can't even get my tires to spin and I rarely push my really hard. I was actually giving them a good review since the 712's are a similar tire, and I think I have great handling with mine. You helped me out a lot in choosing my tires, and I love my Kuhmo's so far. So thanks for your help awhile back, my car and I both appreciate it, haha.AIM: Alientr8tr
1998 Camaro 3.8L
Flowmaster 80-series, !FRA, Eibach Springs, KYB AGX, SLP sway bars, 3.42/LSD, Wings West kit, Z06 Motorsports, Silverstone Metallic paint
Shift 5 - My Band
