Whats the widest tire that will fit a 18 x 8 rim??

I have some 18 x 8 rims with 245's all the way around. Is it possible to get a wider tire??? For example a 255 or maybe a 265?? The tires I have look great but I was just wondering how wide I can go.

255 is the widest that is suggested with an 8" rim.

Is there a big difference between 245 and 255? is it noticable?

when you pay for them it is. But unless you are racing on them I don't think there will be a big handling diffrence. And not that much appearence diffrence either, only 10 mm wider. just for refrence the cost of my tires as a 235 was $99 but the 245's I got was $130. Big diffrence. won't do that again.

there arent many choices when it comes to the 255 tires, so you will pay for them. There are plenty of 245 width tires and you can find deals on them.

You can put a 275 on it. I would recommend 245s though.
Plus 275/35Z418s are very expensive. 245/40s arent as bad.
