18s!

Ok I talked to a buddy at work and I wanna get 2kvette wheels, the 18s! But he said id need 35 series tires so it would throw off my acceleration. Is that right? Cuase if it is ill buy 18s. I wanna run my car and im doing alot of mods here soon so everyone talks bout 17s but if i can make up for it ill do it, if its not worth it ill do 17s.

The reason you performance will suffer is because of the weight.
Check my website in the signature, click on "tech" and then on the fitment guide. It has the apropriate sizes you need to retain (or get close too) the stock height, so your speedometer and gearing will be accurate.

check www.tirerack.com and look for SSR type rims. they're forged and are very light. they will probably help ur et's. u can get them in 18x9.5 sizes on there. if u search yahoo, u can find some sites that sell them as wide as 10 and 11 inches.

The 18s will affect the ETs a little bit simply because the mass of the wheel is located out further from the center - even if they weigh the same as a stock 16.

However, I doubt its going to affect you much at all unless you're anal about your ETs [img]smile.gif[/img] If a tenth is gonna kill ya, go for 17s or smaller or stick with stock - maybe get the 18s and buy some drag wheels down the line?
