as far as treed life goes. about 15K on them now and they need replacing. I love them but they are only lasting me 9 months :eek: What other tires are comparable with them but with a longer treed life and what’s the price? I currently have 245/50/16's considering 255 if there cheep or 235 if they are kinda on the expensive side.

Psst.. KDWS are all season bordering on snow tires. You might do better with the KDW for a standard all-season.
I had Potenza RE950's and they lasted pretty well until I took up autocrossing. Now my tires last 6 months no matter what I buy.

Is getting another set of wheels off the board and using two sets of tires (KDWS for winter months, and more standard all-season or general purpose for the rest of the year) an option?Drivetrain Moderator - "There are no stupid questions, only stupid people!"

Great idea, but I'd go all the way for winter tires (Blizzak, Graspic, etc.) A rear wheel drive car needs all the help it can get in snow. KDWS are just "all-season".2000 Firebird convert, chameleon/tan, M5, Y87, TCS, BMR tower brace and panhard, KBDD sfcs, 245/50-16 GSCs

How are the BFG g-force T/A KDWS tires in the snow? On a scale from 1 to 10(10 being as close as you can get to a snow tire from an all-season tire), how would you rate them? I'm wondering what your opinion is because you actually have experience will them in the snow.
I'm looking to upgrade to a high performance all-season tire. It has to be a tire that is good in the snow, and it has to be good enought to give up my OEM Goodyear Eagle GAs(235/55-16). The GAs have been good to me but it would be nice to mount up a set of 245/50s on my factory 16X8" wheels. I can get the BFGs for the same price as a set of the Goodyears would cost me.
Should i go with the BFGs?
Only 15K on the KDWS and you need to replace them? That doesn't sound right. I believe the tread life rating is right around what the GAs are, and the original GAs that were on the car didn't need to be replaced until 45K. I realize the treadwear rating differs from company to company sometimes but still, you should have seen many more miles with a 400 treadwear rating. Then again, your driving habits, service practices(especially tire pressure!), and road conditions do play a big part in the life of your tires.

maybe I just gt a bad batck I'll see. 3 of the tires have another month or 2 in them but the drive tire is bald. as for the snow I have driven in an inch of sonw at 45 MPH at night and it never let go. not even in hard turns(at a lower speed I would haft to give them a 9 out of 10. however they were only a month old when they were in the snow, not sure how wear affects them.95 Firebird<br /> <a href=\"http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/673250\" target=\"_blank\">http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/673250</a> <br /> <a href=\"http://photobucket.com/albums/y217/andrewbrandon19/\" target=\"_blank\">http://photobucket.com/albums/y217/andrewbrandon19/</a> <br /><br />me on a good day------> <a href=\"http://communicatio.webblogg.se/images/wet_cat_113159625.jpg\" target=\"_blank\">linky</a>

Okay Andy, here is a thought, your tires might last longer if you didn't go though grass fields and pull the e-brake. Also, doing a quick burnout at the track will kill tread as well.
April has had the same tires since March and I cant see any wear on them.
But then again I know you drive alot more miles than her.New Toy Red 94 Formula LT1

wll its one weel drive, so what about the other 3 then? I think I just got a bad set. In the first 3 months the tread indicator went down very fast then it eased up.
oh and the grass field was only one time. you should go buy some old tires and rims and go try it. great stress releif.95 Firebird<br /> <a href=\"http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/673250\" target=\"_blank\">http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/673250</a> <br /> <a href=\"http://photobucket.com/albums/y217/andrewbrandon19/\" target=\"_blank\">http://photobucket.com/albums/y217/andrewbrandon19/</a> <br /><br />me on a good day------> <a href=\"http://communicatio.webblogg.se/images/wet_cat_113159625.jpg\" target=\"_blank\">linky</a>
