  • Tire size for rim

Couple of questions, what is the stock rim size in width and how big of a tire can i fit on it, i think it is a 255 but correct me if i am wrong. Then i am going to get some new 18s and i was wondering what are the biggest and smallest size tires that i can fit on a rim that is 9.5 and the same question for one that is 10.5?

Stock rims are 16X8 and I believe 255s are correct for those.

As far as the 9.5s I have had 245s and have seen 315s, but I don't know the largest/smallest for sure.

If you look at detailed tire specs, either on manufacturers websites or at

      www.tirerack.com

you'll see recommended rim widths for various tires.

Why is it that some of the 9.5s recomend 245 and others do 275? Why the hell would i get a 9.5 if i was going to run a 245? If the recommend a 245 is it still fine if i run a 275? And lastly, will the 18inch by 9.5 on a 275 rub if i lower it on eibach springs?

tires are rubber... mostly. they stretch and bend. the range in the 9.5's is like the range in 8's. you can put a 225 or a 255 tire on it. I dont think anybody would buy a 9.5" rim and then put 245 tires on... well, anybody other than GM anyway. But you could....

you will be fine with a 275 wide tire on a 9.5" rim.

I think if you stay with a 40 height tire or less you wont rub.
