  • want to put on springs

    I have a 2001 Camaro v6.
I want to put on 18x8 rims all around.
I want to drop the car a little (1''-1.5'') to get rid of the gap.

I hear that sportlines are good.

    What springs should I get?
    What shocks should I get?
I am planning on getting LCA relocation brackets and adj. panhard too.

I have read alot of posts, but no one really knows...

I dont want a bouncy ride, and I dont want to wear out my stock shocks...I also would hate to have a very harsh ride.

    Any suggestions welcome...

Eiback does not make Sport Line for V6. Eibach Pro Line makes a lowering spring for V6 that is slightly more stif and lowers 1 to 1.4. The lowering of rear will in its self lower the front .5. I have a set of Eibach V6 unused that I am going to list for sale, they lowered my car to much for my tastes. These springs will not likely over power your stock shocks unless you have more than 50k miles.

Sportline = 2" drop, too soft, it'll ride like hell and scrape worse.

If you're gonna drop it and still drive it, Prokit springs are the way to go.

Shocks is a whole nother ball game - if you're not doing any racing whatsoever and want a good deal go for the $50 Takeoffs that SLP sells or keep your current ones til they are worn. I can tell you don't care much for drag performance by opting for 18" wheels, so nevermind in that area as well.

One suggestion - go with 18x9 as a minimum... 18x8 isnt very wide and you're limited to a P255 wide tire.

well I have 18''x9'' with 245/40/18 and 1.5'' up front killed the gap and the rear is almost 2 1/4'' and the still is about a 1/4'' on all four corners. don't go lower tho because I scrap like hell now so it looks like no body kit for me.Hope this helps. PS 18's look so badass with it lowered.
